Estate Planning Attorney Ben Turshen

Before founding Solace, Ben spent years at leading international law firms, including Paul Hastings LLP (Investment Management), Jones Day (Private Equity), and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP (Asset Management/Alternative Investments). His work there included advising institutional investors and fund sponsors—among them Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, Invesco, The Riverside Company, Edgewater Capital Partners, GIC, and The Cleveland Clinic—on the formation and operation of U.S. and non-U.S. investment vehicles (private equity, hedge, real estate, infrastructure, secondaries, funds-of-funds, funds-of-one, mutual funds, ETFs, and unit investment trusts) with combined holdings exceeding $60 billion.

Ben is deeply committed to social responsibility and has devoted significant time to pro bono legal work on behalf of nonprofit organizations and underserved communities. He also brings two decades of experience in health and wellness—including founding Access Meditation—a perspective that informs his grounded, client-centered approach to planning. His work has been featured in outlets such as The New York Times, Fast Company, and The Huffington Post.

A graduate of Boston University (B.S., magna cum laude), Columbia University (M.A.), and St. John’s University School of Law (J.D.), Ben was born and raised in New York City and has called the Cleveland area home since 2018. He lives in Shaker Heights with his wife, Kaitlin, their children, Remy and Louis, and two rescue huskies, Cato and Duro.

How We Work

Solace guides clients through a simple, proven path—Initial Call, Vision Meeting, Design Meeting, Signing, Funding, and Maintenance—so plans are not only well-designed but fully implemented. The firm uses transparent flat fees quoted after the Vision Meeting and coordinates closely with financial, tax, and insurance advisors to ensure that titles, beneficiary designations, and funding align with the legal design.
